LONG ISLAND NETS TO HOLD LOCAL PLAYER TRYOUTS, PRESENTED BY HSS, AT LIU POST ON SEPT. 13

LONG ISLAND (Aug. 26, 2026) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, will hold their annual local player tryouts, presented by HSS, on Sunday, Sept. 13, at LIU Post’s Pratt Recreational Center ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Long Island will host two sessions on Sept. 13, with a morning tryout at 9 a.m. and an afternoon tryout at 1 p.m. NBA G League hopefuls will showcase their skills through drills and scrimmages led by Brooklyn and Long Island basketball operations personnel as they compete for an invitation to the Long Island Nets’ training camp in late October. 

 The annual tryout has provided a pathway to the LI Nets roster for several players in recent seasons. Amityville, N.Y., native Terry Roberts participated in the 2023 local tryout before playing 90 games with Long Island over the past three seasons and currently ranks third in franchise history with 344 assists. Jordan Minor earned a spot with Long Island after participating in the team’s 2024 local player tryout and went on to appear in 42 games during the 2024-25 season. 

Check-in for the morning session will begin at 8 a.m. at the Pratt Recreational Center, followed by the tryout at 9 a.m. Check-in for the afternoon session will begin at noon, followed by the tryout at 1 p.m.

Participation in each session will be limited to the first 75 applicants who submit the non-refundable registration fee and complete the required registration and waiver forms. Both sessions will be closed to the public.
