Long Island Nets Announce 2021 Roster

LONG ISLAND (Jan. 27, 2021) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, announced today the team’s 2021 roster.
The 12-man roster includes two players signed to two-way contracts with the Brooklyn Nets, four affiliate players from Brooklyn and six returning rights players.
Four of Long Island’s returning rights players were acquired via offseason trades:
- Forward Kaiser Gates’ returning player rights were acquired from the Maine Red Claws in exchange for the returning player rights to Deng Adel.
- The Nets acquired the returning player rights to forward BJ Johnson from the Lakeland Magic in exchange for the returning player rights to Devin Cannady.
- Long Island acquired guard Jeremiah Martin’s returning player rights from the Sioux Falls Skyforce in a three-team trade with Lakeland. In the deal, Long Island traded its own first round pick in the 2020-21 NBA G League Draft to Lakeland, while the Magic traded the returning player rights to Vic Law to the Skyforce.
- Forward Tariq Owens’ returning player rights were acquired from the Northern Arizona Suns in exchange for the returning player rights to guard Joe Cremo and forward Drew Gordon. Long Island also received the returning player rights to guard Matt Farrell in the exchange.
The Nets are set to participate in the NBA G League’s 2021 season at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Fla., in February. The team’s schedule and broadcast information will be released at a later time.
