LONG ISLAND NETS ACQUIRE SETH ALLEN AND KOBI NWANDU

LONG ISLAND (Jan. 2, 2022) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired guard Seth Allen and forward Kobi Nwandu from the available player pool.
Allen (6’1”, 195) was selected by Iowa with the 22nd pick in the third round of the 2021 NBA G League Draft prior to being placed on waivers Nov. 1. He has appeared in two career NBA G League games during one season (2017-18) with Sioux Falls, recording averages of 7.5 points and 1.0 steals in 11.7 minutes per contest. Additionally, Allen has played three seasons (2017-20) internationally in Hungary, Italy and Lithuania. Prior his professional career, the Woodbridge, Va., native spent two seasons (2015-17) at Virginia Tech, recording averages of 14.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 28.5 minutes per game over 67 appearances (21 starts). He previously spent his first two seasons (2012-14) at Maryland, where he averaged 9.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 24.8 minutes per game in 56 games (22 starts).
Nwandu (6’6”, 210) begins his professional career after spending one season (2020-21) at Niagara, recording averages of 14.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 34.1 minutes per game over 20 appearances (all starts). He played his first three collegiate seasons at Le Moyne College (2018-19) and East Stroudsburg University (2016-18).
