LONG ISLAND NETS ACQUIRE RETURNING PLAYER RIGHTS TO VRENZ BLEIJENBERGH

LONG ISLAND (Nov. 14, 2022) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired the returning player rights to Vrenz Bleijenbergh from the Windy City Bulls in exchange for the returning player rights to guard Marcus Zegarowski. The trade is not subject to a physical.
Bleijenbergh (6’10”, 209) appeared in three regular season games with the Bulls during the 2021-22 NBA G League season, averaging 1.0 rebounds in 4.3 minutes per game. The Belgium native has also played four seasons (2018-2022) overseas with three teams in Belgium. Bleijenbergh is currently playing with FILOU Oostende in the Belgium Professional Basketball League, appearing in eight games (all starts) thus far this season and recording averages of 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 24.9 minutes per contest.
Zegarowski was originally acquired by Long Island as a draft rights player ahead of the 2021-22 season after being selected by the Brooklyn Nets with the 49th overall pick in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft. In two Showcase Cup games with Long Island this season, Zegarowski has averaged 6.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals in 18.0 minutes per game.
