LONG ISLAND NETS ACQUIRE RETURNING PLAYER RIGHTS TO KYLER EDWARDS

LONG ISLAND (Sept. 19, 2023) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired the returning player rights to guard Kyler Edwards from the Wisconsin Herd in exchange for the returning player rights to guard Bryce Brown and Long Island’s first round pick in the 2023 NBA G League Draft.

Edwards (6’4”, 205) appeared in 25 games (five starts) for the Motor City Cruise during the 2022-23 regular season, recording averages of 12.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 25.8 minutes per contest. He also appeared in 16 NBA G League Showcase Cup games for the Cruise, averaging 10.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals in 25.3 minutes per game. Prior to beginning his professional career, the Arlington, Texas, native spent three collegiate seasons (2018-21) at Texas Tech, where he recorded averages of 8.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 26.7 minutes per contest across 98 games (57 starts) prior to transferring to the University of Houston for his senior season (2021-22), where he appeared in 37 games (all starts) and averaged 13.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 34.1 minutes per game. Edwards was named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention after his junior season at Texas Tech and earned All-American Athletic Conference Second Team honors following his senior season at Houston.

Brown appeared in 30 regular season games (21 starts) for Long Island during the 2021-22 season and posted averages of 12.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 29.0 minutes per game. He was originally acquired by Long Island via trade from the Westchester Knicks on Sept. 13, 2021.
