LONG ISLAND NETS ACQUIRE RETURNING PLAYER RIGHTS TO DWIGHT MURRAY JR.

LONG ISLAND (Sept. 3, 2026) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired guard Dwight Murray Jr. and a first round pick in the 2026 NBA G League Draft from the College Park Skyhawks in exchange for a first round pick (via Cleveland) in the 2026 NBA G League Draft and Long Island’s second round pick in the 2027 NBA G League Draft.

Murray Jr. (6’0”, 181) appeared in 90 career NBA G League Tip-Off Tournament and regular season games (51 starts) across two seasons (2024-26) with the Skyhawks, averaging 8.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 23.5 minutes per game. The 26-year-old dished out 96 assists in the 2025 Tip-Off Tournament, tied for ninth-most in the NBA G League. He was also a member of Brooklyn’s 2026 Summer League team, appearing in two games for the Nets in Las Vegas and one game in the California Classic. Murray Jr. began his professional career overseas with KK Mornar in Montenegro, posting averages of 9.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 21.2 minutes per game over 28 contests during the 2023-24 season.

Prior to beginning his professional career, the Austell, Ga., native played his final three collegiate seasons (2020-23) at Rider University following two seasons (2018-20) at the University of the Incarnate Word. In 29 games (all starts) as a graduate student for the Broncos, Murray Jr. averaged 15.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.4 steals in a conference-high 36.5 minutes per contest while earning All-MAAC First Team and All-Met Second Team honors. He led the MAAC in assists per game (4.7) in 2021-22 and earned All-MAAC Second Team honors as a junior in 2020-21, when he paced the conference in points (364), field goals (131) and assists (95).
