LONG ISLAND NETS ACQUIRE RETURNING PLAYER RIGHTS TO BRYCE BROWN

LONG ISLAND (Sept. 13, 2021) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired the returning player rights to Bryce Brown from the Westchester Knicks in exchange for the returning player rights to Jaylen Hands. The trade is not subject to a physical.

 

Brown (6’3”, 198) has appeared in 43 career NBA G League games (36 starts) over two seasons with Maine (2019-20) and Westchester (2020-21), averaging 13.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 26.7 minutes per contest. The Stone Mountain, Ga., native played in nine games (two starts) for Westchester last season and posted averages of 5.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 17.1 minutes per game. He previously played four collegiate seasons (2015-19) at Auburn, where he earned the SEC Tournament MVP Award in 2019 and was named Second Team All-SEC twice (2018, 2019). Brown finished his Auburn career ranked first in school history and second all-time in the SEC in career 3-pointers made (382).

 

Hands appeared in 41 games in one season (2019-20) with Long Island, averaging 11.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 22.6 minutes per contest. He was originally acquired by Long Island as an affiliate player from the Brooklyn Nets ahead of the 2019-20 season.
