LONG ISLAND NETS ACQUIRE ISAIAH WRIGHT

LONG ISLAND (Nov. 17, 2021) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired guard Isaiah Wright from the available player pool to replace guard Josh Gray while he plays for USA Basketball in the upcoming FIBA World Cup Qualifying Games.

Wright (6’2”, 180), who will be eligible to play for Long Island beginning on Nov. 20, appeared in seven games (six starts) for the Stockton Kings during the 2019-20 season, averaging 5.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 24.6 minutes per game. He was originally acquired by Stockton with the 23rd pick in the third round of the 2019 NBA G League Draft.

Prior to starting his NBA G League career, Wright played two seasons (2017-19) at the University of San Diego, appearing in 65 games (64 starts) and averaging 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 36.0 minutes per game. The Boise, Idaho, native earned 2017-18 All-WCC Second Team honors during his redshirt junior season and 2019 All-WCC Honorable Mention honors in his final year with the Toreros. Wright played his first two seasons (2014-16) at the University of Utah, where he appeared in 62 games (one start) and averaged 2.0 points and 1.6 assists in 12.8 minutes per game before transferring to San Diego.
