Long Island Nets Acquire Returning Rights To Two Players And Two Draft Picks In Trade With Memphis Hustle

LONG ISLAND (October 19, 2017) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired the returning player rights to forward Okaro White and guard Jamaal Franklin in addition to second round picks in both the 2017 and 2018 NBA G League Draft from the Memphis Hustle. In return, the Nets traded the returning player rights to forwards Trahson Burrell and Dwayne Polee II along with Long Island’s fourth round pick in the 2017 NBA G League Draft.

White, currently on the Miami Heat’s roster, appeared in 35 games for Miami last season, averaging 2.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 13.5 minutes per game. He also appeared in and started 23 games with the NBA G League’s Sioux Falls Skyforce last season, recording averages of 18.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 33.0 minutes per game prior to being called up by the Heat in January.

Franklin has appeared in 24 career NBA games with Memphis (2013-14) and Denver (2014-15), recording averages of 1.8 points and 1.0 rebounds in 7.3 minutes per game. Last season, he appeared in 36 games (35 starts) for Shanxi Zhongyu of the Chinese Basketball Association, averaging 33.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 3.3 steals in 41.4 minutes per contest.

Burrell appeared in 49 games (36 starts) for Long Island last season, averaging 13.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals in 30.4 minutes per game. Polee recorded averages of 5.7 points and 2.5 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per contest in 22 games with the LI Nets last year.
