The Long Island Nets Veteran of the Game Program is designed to honor returning armed forces veterans who have worked to protect our freedoms. As part of Bank of America's sponsorship of the Long Island Nets Veteran of the Game Program, the Nets will honor a veteran at each of the Nets 24 regular season home games.

Danny served in the Army for 10 years. Within those 10 years, Danny served 4.5 years as an Infantry Officer and 5 years as a Special Forces Officer. Danny spent 3 years in Afghanistan and did 3 deployments. Danny received two Bronze Stars for Leadership in Combat and then graduated from Airborne School, Ranger School, and the Reconnaissance Leaders Course.

Specialist Chambers-Murphy was appointed by the Commander for the 258th and 300th Medical Detachments, in Rocky Point New York as the acting retention and re-enlistment non-commissioned Officer.Sharran's decorations and awards include teh Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Award, Armed Forces Reserved Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, two Overseas Service Training Ribbons, and New York State Army Medal.

Representing the United States Army, Sergeant Michael Carpenter. From 2004 to 2005 Sergeant Carpenter was deployed in Iraq and appointed by the Commander for the 1st and 69th Infantry. Sergeant Carpenter was then deployed to Afghanistan in 2008 where he performed 11 Bravo as well as 11 Charles Duties. He was transferred over to the 106 RTI Camp Smith where he presently performs his enlisted duties.

Sergeant Powell represents the United States Marine Corps where he served from 2008 to 2015. Sergeant Powell served four years overseas as Platoon Leader for 3rd Marine Division, Headquarters Battalion Okinawa and Japan. Sergeant Powell has earned the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and the Sea Service Ribbon.

United States Navy Veteran Carol Squatrito served overseas her entire tour from 1981-1987. Carol's Duty Stations include Rosy RDS. Puerto Rico, Sigonella Sicily, and Reserve Duty  on the French Riviera. Carol's service awards include Honor Recruit Recipient in Boot Camp, Top Female Student in "A" school, Ms. Sailor of the Quarter, and the Good Conduct Medal.

Sergeant Pamela Usher represents the United States Army. Sergeant Usher served from 1994-1999. Sergeant Usher was stationed in Kentucky, Germany, and Bosnia.Bill Stegman enlisted in the United States Navy in 1985 and served through 1993. Bill was deployed during the Persian Gulf War on the USS Blakeley, and was also deployed during The Desert Shield, Desert Storm on the USS Harland County.

Salvatore served as a United States Army Sergeant from 1966-1968. He is a survivor of the 1968 Tet Offensive of the Vietnam War. He is currently the Service Officer for the American Legion Post 1033 and Sergeant at Arms for the Vietnam War Veterans Association of Nassau County.
