The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, will host a second local player tryout on Saturday, Sept. 22, in Brooklyn at the Aviator Sports and Events Center.

The tryout in Brooklyn will follow the team’s local player tryout at LIU Post on Long Island on Saturday, Sept. 15. Both tryouts will feature local basketball hopefuls competing for the chance to earn an invitation to LI Nets training camp in October ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Aviator Sports and Events Center is located at 3159 Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn, N.Y., at Floyd Bennett Field, and check-in will begin at 12:30 p.m. ahead of the 1:30 p.m. tryout. Brooklyn and Long Island Nets basketball operations personnel will run the tryout, which will include a variety of drills and scrimmages.

Former local player tryout success stories include J.J. Moore, a Brentwood, N.Y., native and 2016 local tryout participant who appeared in 46 games for Long Island last season, and Charlie Marquardt, a former Molloy College standout and 2017 local tryout participant who appeared in four games for the LI Nets during the 2017-18 campaign.

Players interested in trying out should visit longislandnets.com to begin the registration process. Participation is limited to the first 80 applicants who submit the $200 non-refundable registration fee online and complete the required registration and waiver forms.
