LONG ISLAND (September 6, 2017) – The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, will host their annual local player tryout on Saturday, September 30, at LIU Post ahead of the 2017-18 season.

Players will compete in drills and scrimmages in front of Brooklyn Nets and Long Island Nets basketball operations personnel for the chance to earn an invitation to LI Nets training camp in late October. The tryout will be held at the Pratt Recreation Center on LIU Post’s campus at 720 Northern Blvd. in Brookville, N.Y., with check-in beginning at 9 a.m. ahead of the 10 a.m. tryout.

Players interested in trying out should visit longislandnets.com to begin the registration process. Participation is limited to the first 100 applicants who submit the $150 non-refundable registration fee online and complete the required registration and waiver forms. All tryout participants must pre-register online and be eligible to play in the NBA G League.

J.J. Moore, a native of Brentwood, N.Y., attended last year's local player tryout prior to suiting up for the LI Nets in 46 games last season.

Limited seating will be available to the public for a $5 admission fee on the day of the tryout, with all proceeds benefiting the Nets Foundation. Filming of any portion of the tryout is not permitted.
